What to do when sent e-mails stopped being archived automatically from Outlook to SuperOffice CRM?

I use Outlook 2013 with SuperOffice Mail Link. I have had a Mail Link preferences configured so that an outgoing e-mail gets archived automatically. Recently, automatic archiving stopped working and in the Mail Link log file I can see the following error:

OUTLOOK.EXE: Error setting property 'ArchiveButtonEnabled' on item of type 'MailItem' to value: 'true'. Error: Error in _HrGetIDsFromNames - IMAPIProp == NULL

Why does it happen and how do I fix it?

There are two known situations when the described issue might occur:

1. When Outlook installation has experience change (update, reinstall, etc.)

2. When your e-mail account on Outlook does not have a sent folder

Outlook installation has experience change (update, reinstall, etc.)

In many cases, the recommended fix of importing Windows Registry files with missing MAPI marshaling registry keys for the click-to-run (C2R) Outlook 2013 solves the problem. To do that, follow the steps below:

  1. Download Windows registry files:  Outlook_2013_C2R_fix.ZIP  and unzip them on the computer with the issue.

  2. If you are using an Outlook 2013 32bit version on a 64bit Windows use file: "Outlook2013_C2R_32_on_64.reg". In all other cases use "Outlook2013_C2R.reg". The files are identical except for the "Wow6432Node" part.

Note!

  1. In some cases, the fix works for standard Outlook 2013 and newer installations.

  2. Incorrectly editing a registry can permanently damage your computer or server (if you work on Citrix/Terminal Server), so do not delete or adjust any key if you don't know specifically why you do it. We recommend to back up the Windows registry before making any change. You can find instructions on how to do it in this article.
